This project involved a complete strip-out and transformation of a dilapidated 1960’s dwelling situated on the edge of a stunning mature park, revitalizing it into a modern and striking family home. The design integrates a sensitive refurbishment of the existing structure, complemented by a contemporary extension that enhances functionality by creating a large open plan kitchen and living space. The façade contrasts crisp white render with natural timber cladding, creating warmth and visual interest while blending harmoniously with the natural surroundings. Large windows and a thoughtfully designed entrance frame views of the park and invite ample natural light into the home.

Sustainability and modern living are at the forefront of this refurbishment. The integration of solar panels, an air-source heat pump, and a mechanical heat recovery ventilation (MHRV) system ensures energy efficiency and year-round comfort. Internally, the reconfigured layout prioritizes open-plan living spaces while maintaining private zones for family life. This transformation showcases the potential to modernize existing buildings into environmentally conscious and architecturally dynamic homes that connect deeply with their natural context.
